The invention relates to a method for heating the room air in a building, in particular a warehouse (100), by means of one or more sprinkler lines (11) of a fire-extinguishing system (1). According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: filling the sprinkler lines in the building (100) with extinguishing fluid; circulating the extinguishing fluid in the sprinkler lines (11); heating the extingusihing fluid in the sprinkler lines (11); and heating the sprinkler lines (11) by means of the heated extinguishing fluid in such a way that the sprinkler lines (11) have a higher temperature than the room air.
