Provided is a material that is used suitably for boxer shorts that conform well to lower body movements and are comfortable to wear. The material is used favorably in boxer shorts that do not have elastic bands in the waist opening or the leg openings. Said material is elastic and has raw cut edges that do not require hemming or overcasting of the edges thereof. When the waist opening and leg openings in boxer shorts have raw cut edges and the waist encircling direction in the boxer shorts is the measurement direction for the material, the elongation recovery load in said measurement direction is in the range of at least 0.75 N/mm² at 20% elongation and not more than 4.2 N/mm² at 60% elongation.
