摘要

The present invention is a procedure for extracting mechanical energy from thermal energy. The method deviates in principle from known methods by the energy output being based on the difference between enthalpy and internal energy. The procedure is consistent with a thermodynamic cycle. In the description, the cooling reservoir (TL) temperature is 277 K (+4 °C). The heating reservoir (TH) may be any temperature above 255 K (-18 °C). It may thus be 277 K. With TH = TL for the reservoirs, and net mechanical energy emitted, the cycle meets the criteria of "a perpetual motion machine of the second kind". The calculations are based on thermophysical properties from National Institute of Standards and Technology (N.I.S.T. - US Department of Commerce). The thermodynamic cycle and the energy calculations have been analyzed and controlled by an expert professor, on behalf of SINTEF Tel-Tek. The process simulating program Aspen HYSYS has been applied.
