The invention relates to a radial bearing for an exhaust-gas turbocharger, wherein the radial bearing is designed as a plain bearing and comprises a bearing bushing (6) that is designed so as to be able to accommodate a shaft (3) of the exhaust-gas turbocharger (2), and wherein there is designed at least one face (5), surrounding the shaft (3), of the radial bearing (1), and wherein the bearing bushing (6) has a lubricant inlet (7), and wherein the bearing bushing (6) is designed so as to enclose a cavity (13), wherein the face (5) is configured so as to match an outer face (15) of the cavity (13), and wherein the radial bearing (1) has a longitudinal axis (14) and a central plane (19). According to the invention, the cavity (13) is designed so as to have a cross section (QH) in the form of a hypotrochoid, wherein the hypotrochoid has, in order to contribute lubrication pockets (8), a maximum distance (AMAX) from the longitudinal axis (14) and a minimum distance (AMIN) from the longitudinal axis (14).
