This mass spectrometry method involves: on the basis of first data obtained by detecting chlorobiphenyl in first mass spectrometry of a reference sample of chlorobiphenyl, creating calibration data for performing calibration; acquiring second data obtained by detecting, in second mass spectrometry of the sample, at least one chlorobiphenyl which has the same chlorine number as and is of a different type from the chlorobiphenyl detected in the first mass spectrometry; and calculating a quantitative value for the chlorobiphenyl contained in the sample on the basis of the calibration data and the second data.
