The present invention relates to a porous catalyst for hydroxyl group alkylation comprising zinc oxide and aluminum oxide, a production method using a nonionic surfactant thereof, and a method for alkylating a hydroxyl group of polyalkylene glycol using the same. According to the present invention, since the porous catalyst for hydroxyl group alkylation exhibits excellent polyalkylene glycol conversion rate and methylation conversion rate, the porous catalyst can be useful in the alkylation of polyalkylene glycol in an economically feasible and environmentally friendly way.
