The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating muscle diseases, which contains filbertone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention increases expression of p-4E-BP1 and p-p70S6K protein, and reduces expression of muscle ring-finger protein (MuRF1), muscle atrophy F-box (MaFbx), or myostatin.
