A panoramic X-ray photographing apparatus is disclosed. The present apparatus comprises: an x-ray source generating x-rays; an image sensor unit for converting an X-ray passing through the head of a subject into an electrical signal; a sensor tilt adjusting unit for adjusting the tilt of the image sensor unit; a head tilt sensing unit for sensing the tilt of the subject head; and a control unit for controlling the tilt of the image sensor unit to adjust the inclination of the image sensor unit according to the sensed subject head tilt, wherein the tilt of the subject head can be the degree to which the subject head is bowed forward or backward with respect to a baseline.
