The present invention relates to a use of vacuolar pyrophosphatase (VP) genes derived from Oryza sativa as a regulator for yield and environmental stress. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for producing a plant having enhanced yield and environmental stress tolerance with a recombinant vector comprising VP genes derived from Oryza sativa, and a plant or a seed thereof produced by the method, and a composition for enhancing yield and environmental stress tolerance comprising the VP genes.
