The present invention relates to a method for tracking a gaze of a person in a gaze tracking system including a camera, a marker displayed on the floor, and a marker displayed on the wall, and more particularly, to a method for tracking a gaze using a movement of a pupil and an interval between an eye and an outline of a face, which comprises the steps of: acquiring image information through a camera; detecting a face region of a person from the image information; detecting eye and pupil regions in the face region to calculate a pupil movement distance; calculating a distance difference from an outer end of each eye to an outline of a face in the face region; calculating a ratio from an upper end of a head to the eye and a ratio from a lip to a jaw in the face region to calculate a face vertical movement distance; combining the pupil movement distance, the distance difference from the outer end of each eye to the outline of the face, and the face vertical movement distance to calculate a direction and angle of a gaze; calculating a distance between a reference and the person by using a distance between the preset reference and a marker displayed on the floor, and a distance between a body of the person and the marker of the floor in the image information; calculating an eye level of the person by comparing the body of the person with a marker displayed on the wall in the image information using the distance between the reference and the person and the height of the marker displayed on the wall calculated in the previous step; and calculating a gaze position using the direction and angle of the gaze, and the eye level of the person.
