The present invention is to provide an epoxy composite material with enhanced mechanical strength. In particular, a synthesized surface-modified graphene oxide and nanodiamond are mixed and ultrasonically treated in ethanol, thereby yielding a stable dispersant; the dispersant is reacted at 60 °C and filtered, thereby producing a graphene oxide/nanodiamond composite; and the graphene oxide/nanodiamond composite is mixed with an epoxy and a hardener. More specifically, the present invention provides a method of preparing an epoxy composite material enhanced with a nanodiamond nanocluster-incorporated graphene oxide, the method comprising: (1) oxidizing graphite by using a strong acid and an oxidizing agent, thereby synthesizing graphene oxide; (2) modifying the surface of the graphene oxide thus produced; (3) modifying the surface of nanodiamond; (4) mixing the surface-modified graphene oxide and nanodiamond thus prepared to produce a nanodiamond nanocluster-incorporated graphene oxide composite filler; and (5) mixing the nanodiamond nanocluster-incorporated graphene oxide composite filler with an epoxy and a hardener. According to the present invention, by adding GN to an epoxy resin as a filler, an epoxy composite material with enhanced mechanical properties can be produced with even a small amount of a GN filler as compared to an existing epoxy composite material enhanced with graphene oxide.
