Disclosed are an electric car charging station based on gas energy and an operating method of an electric car charging station. According to the present invention, the electric car charging station comprises: a dispenser for electric car charging; a main power supply unit to which system power flows from a Korea electric power corporation power network wherein the main power supply unit supplies main power to the dispenser for electric car charging; and a triple power generation system which uses natural gas as fuel to integratedly generate cooling/heating energy and supply auxiliary power to the dispenser for electric car charging. The power and cooling/heating energy generated from the triple power generation system are supplied to convenient facilities, thereby providing an electric car charging service having a shape in which an electric car is coupled to the convenient facilities.
