A charging system using kinetic energy of a freight car comprises: an installation frame provided at a lower portion of the freight car; an electric clutch one side of which is fixed to the installation frame, the other side of which is provided in contact with or spaced apart from an axle of the freight car in a transverse direction, and thus which converts the rotational force of the axle into the rotational force of a transmission shaft provided in the transverse direction; a clutch driving unit provided in the installation frame to drive the electric clutch so that the electric clutch is in contact with or spaced apart from the axle; a generator provided on the transmission shaft to convert the kinetic energy of the freight car into electrical energy during operation of the freight car; and a power storage unit installed in the installation frame and connected to the generator to store the electrical energy converted by the generator. Accordingly, it is possible to provide the charging system using the kinetic energy of the freight car, which enables the electrical energy to be conveniently used, so repair work can be easily carried out even at night in the freight car which is operated along a railway only by towing of a connected locomotive without its own power.
