The present invention relates to a method and a user device for transmitting a RACH preamble and a method and a base station for receiving the RACH preamble. According to the present invention, the user device in a wireless communication system receives a setting information including a preamble format information, and determines a first format for the RACH preamble based on the preamble format information. Here, the first format specifies a sequence part and a cyclic prefix (CP) part of the RACH preamble, which will be transmitted within N units of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in a time domain, and here, N is greater than 1. The user device transmits the RACH preamble within the N units of OFDM symbols to satisfy the formula below based on the first format for the RACH preamble: the length of the CP part of the RACH preamble equals N*NCP. Here, the NCP is the length of the CP part of each of the OFDM symbols. The length of the CP part of the RACH preamble plus the length of the sequence part of the RACH preamble equals the total length of the N units of OFDM symbols.
