The present invention relates to a defect detection sensor for a pipe joint and a water leakage detection system using the same. The defect detection sensor comprises: a first member and a second member; a sensing wire in a form of a protrusion shape formed on the first member; an outlet-type sensing wire configured in the second member so as to correspond to the sensing wire in the form of a protrusion shape; and a water-expandable material or spring space part configured so as to accommodate the water-expandable material or a spring in the first member and the second member. The water-expandable material or the spring is inserted into the water-expandable material or the spring space part before inserting the protrusion-shaped sensing wire into the outlet-type sensing wire. Therefore, the present invention is capable of detecting the water leakage or leakage of the pressure tube joint for all types of fluid transport.
