The present invention relates to a desk lamp for improving academic performance and a method for inducing improvements in academic performance using the same. The desk lamp for improved academic performance comprises: a lower base seated on an upper surface of a desk; a first support fixed to an upper surface of the lower base and formed with a predetermined height on an upper portion of the lower base; at least one second support having one end fixed to an upper end of the first support to rotate to be provided with a predetermined height on an upper portion of the first support; a lampshade coupled to a front end portion of the second support to surround an upper portion of a lamp so that light from the lamp is emitted downward; a power switch provided on any one of the lower base, the first and second supporters, and the lampshade to control turning on or off of the lamp through the control of power supplied from the outside; and a learner posture monitoring unit provided in any one of the lower base, the first and second supporters, and the lampshade to monitor the sitting posture of a learner. The learner posture monitoring unit includes: an ultrasonic sensor generating ultrasonic waves toward the body of the learner to detect the posture and position of the learner and a distance therefrom; a control unit having a microcomputer for comparing a signal detected and transmitted by the ultrasonic sensor with programmed preset reference information and analyzing the same to control generation of a warning signal according to whether or not the right posture is maintained and storing learning time; and a warning generating unit transmitting a warning signal to the learner through the control of the control unit when the posture and learning time of the learner do not satisfy set criteria depending on the determination of the control unit.
