The present invention relates to a novel strain of Lactobacillus brevis BNT 11 isolated from kimchi and a composition for treating or preventing vaginitis comprising the strain or a culture medium thereof as an active ingredient. The composition comprising the Lactobacillus brevis BNT 11 strain or the culture medium thereof of the present invention can be applied to various vaginal bacterial infections caused by harmful bacteria. In addition, the composition of the present invention can be used for antifungal and anti-inflammatory purposes in various fields such as functional health food compositions, cleaning products and the like.
