An embodiment of the present invention discloses an apparatus for providing a living space management service. The apparatus comprises: a management unit generating context information by applying information for environment around a user to a preset information conversion rule based on ontology to store the generated context information in the common knowledge base; a reasoning unit reasoning a situation of the user based on the context information stored in the common knowledge base, generating context information corresponding to the reasoned situation, and storing the generated context information in the common knowledge base; and a control unit using the context information corresponding to the reasoned situation to provide a living space management service to the user.
