Astaxanthin has a high antioxidant effect and is used in various fields such as medicine and health food. Haematococcus has higher astaxanthin content than other organisms, and active research is being conducted, but the growth rate thereof is very slow, thus it is difficult to produce astaxanthin. The present invention can use electrical stimulation to promote Haematococcus growth, thereby increasing astaxanthin production. Therefore, the present invention is very useful for producing astaxanthin using Haematococcus, and may be used later for other microalgae production.
