The present invention relates to an apparatus for assisting squat exercise, which comprises: a support frame put on the ground; a calf support unit disposed on the upper part of the support frame and extending in the direction of a user′s leg to support a user′s calf; and a foot top support unit installed in the calf support unit and extending in the direction of a user′s foot to support a user′s foot top. The present invention provides a technology which fixes the lower body of a user performing squat exercise on the ground to enable the user performing squat exercise to maintain a balanced posture of the lower body without concerning on body balance. Accordingly, squat motion of a beginner or a user performing the squat motion for a long time is maintained, thereby realizing efficient muscular exercise. Moreover, the lower body of the user is supported and fixed, thereby preventing an accident of the user performing the squat motion with an added weight such as a barbell.
