The present invention provides a heating rod for a glow plug, which comprises: a ceramic glow element (1) having a glow tip at a front end thereof and a connector portion (1.6) at a rear end thereof; a contact element (3) making electrical contact with the connector portion (1.6) of the glow element (1); and a sheath (2) from which the front end of the glow element (1) protrudes. According to present invention, the contact element (3) is pressed against the glow element (1) under pre-tension. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for producing the heating rod (10) and a glow plug with the heating rod (10).
