The present invention relates to an HDAC6 inhibitor, and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating dementia or cognitive impairment using the same, in which novel 56 kinds of HDAC6 selective inhibitors are synthesized based on a structure of a compound 52, which is an HDAC6 selective inhibitor, and as a result, a compound 32, which has the highest activity and selectivity, has an effect of alleviating learning and memory impairment. Therefore, by applying the HDAC6 inhibitor according to the present invention to degenerative neurological diseases including dementia or cognitive impairment, it is expected to contribute to disease mechanism research and further suggest novel drug development potential.
