A rotating coupling device is provided that minimizes magnetic flux leakage from the magnetic circuit coupled to the rotatable coupling device. The rotatable coupling device includes a rotor and an armature that form opposing mating surfaces. The field shell, which is disposed on one side of the rotor, the armature, and the rotor to house the electric conductor, constitutes members of a magnetic circuit that pulls the armature and engages the rotor when the conductor is energized. A torque transmitting member is coupled to the armature and supported by the bearing. In one embodiment, the sleeve is disposed radially inward of the bearing. To prevent flux leakage through the torque transmitting member, the sleeve has a lower permeability than the magnetic permeability of the members of the magnetic circuit. In another embodiment, the support cup of the torque transmitting member has a flange that is bent radially outwardly away from the rotor to keep the support cup away.
