The present invention relates to a novel carbonic anhydrase having high thermostability and high hydration activity of carbon dioxide. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a novel carbonic anhydrase; a polynucleotide encoding the same; a recombinant vector comprising the polynucleotide; a transformant transformed with the vector; a method for producing a novel carbonic anhydrase using the transformant; a composition for collecting or releasing carbon dioxide comprising the same; a bioreactor comprising the same; and a method for collecting or releasing carbon dioxide using the composition for collecting carbon dioxide. The present invention also relates to a process for releasing carbon dioxide from various compounds (minerals).
