The present invention relates to a method for predicting spontaneous ignition of a coal storage yard using HMM, comprising: a step of measuring an oxygen concentration of a coal storage yard, an internal and an external compressive flow, and an oxidation reaction rate; a step of inputting the measured values to the TPM which is a Markov model; and a step of predicting a probability of spontaneous ignition by inputting a TPM value to an EPM which is the Markov model.
