An aluminum current collector for a lithium ion battery according to the present invention is formed by anodizing an aluminum substrate and then removing an aluminum oxide film, wherein an aluminum pattern layer comprising protrusions formed adjacent to each other on the aluminum substrate. According to the present invention, a high performance lithium ion battery having mechanical stability and electrochemical stability can be provided.
