A method for computing a code for reconstruction of a three-dimensional scene (200, 300) including an object (300) that partially absorbs light or sound is disclosed. This method can be implemented in a computing unit. To reconstruct the three-dimensional scene as realistically as possible, the diffraction patterns are calculated separately at their origin, taking into account the absorption case in the scene. This method can be used for display of a three-dimensional scene in a holographic display or a volumetric display. This method can also be implemented to achieve reconstruction of the sound field in the array of sound sources.
