A method for placing an UAV in an area of interest of three-dimensional space comprises the following steps. An UAV receives area information for an area of interest. The UAV collects structure information for a structure located in the area of interest by searching the area of interest of three-dimensional space. The UAV or separate central control device determines a placement location of an UAV to be placed in the area of interest. The area information is information defining a geographical location of the area of interest. The structure information is information about an area occupied by the structure in the area of interest. The placement location is determined to form an ad hoc network for the area of interest based on the structure information.
