The present invention relates to a plant disease controlling composition containing a saponin compound isolated from the extract of a broad flat rock tree as an active ingredient, and a plant disease controlling method using the same. The plant disease controlling composition is a natural product to be harmless to a human body, and is biodegradable in nature to have less environmental load. In addition, the present invention exhibits control activities against plant fungi diseases such as rice blast disease (Magnaporthe oryzae), wheat leaf rust disease (Puccinia recondite) and Brassicaceae black spot disease (Alternaria brassicicola). Therefore, the present invention can be developed as an environmentally friendly biopesticide and can be beneficially used to produce high value-added organic products.
