METHOD OF MAKING A THERMITE MIXTURE FOR WELDING RAILS BY INTERMEDIATE CASTING METHOD

FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for preparing mixtures for thermite welding of rails by intermediate casting. Scales are crushed, magnetically separated, oxidised fired in through-type drum furnaces and fractionated. Prior to grinding, scale is subjected to rough cleaning with subsequent drying and cooling, and after crushing, its fractional separation is carried out with separation of fractions 0.26–1.00 and 0.10–0.25 mm and subsequent magnetic separate separation of said fractions. Oxidative annealing is performed separately for each scale fraction. Fractions annealing 0.26–1.00 mm is carried out at temperature 800–950 °C, and firing fractions 0.10–0.25 mm – at temperature 700–750 °C. Scales are cooled down and fed for packing of all components of the thermite mixture according to the recipe.;EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of sintering of fractions from 0,25 mm to 0,1 mm and increase of oxygen balance at oxidising firing of these fractions, as well as higher quality of scale coming for firing.;1 cl, 2 dwg
