FIELD: soil or rock drilling.;SUBSTANCE: present invention discloses an device and a method of determining during drilling coefficient of Fortress according to Protodyakov for the tunnel roof rock based on the sound level measurement. In order to solve the problem of determination during drilling of an indicator of important mechanical properties of rock, a coefficient of Fortress according to Protodyakov, affecting the anchoring scheme and support of the coal mine tunnel roof, bore pits with diameter of 32~42 mm are made in the tunnel roof, bearing device with sound level meter probe is located downstream of drilling bit. A method of combining with readings from a measuring borehole rod is used. During drilling the value of noise is measured in decibels of blastholes with different depths, coefficient of Fortress according to Protodyakov for rock in the roof range of the blast hole tunnel is obtained quickly by means of comparison with the noise value in decibels of the tunnel rock drilling at the work site in conjunction with the coefficient of Fortress according to Protodyakov in range of 0.3–20 of the standard rock catalog installed in the laboratory, and harmful noise in the process of piercing is converted into a useful sound source, while obtaining a determination technology during drilling. Said is suitable for determining during drilling the Fortress according to Protodyakov of sandstone, shale, mudstone and other common deposited rock layers of coal-bearing formation.;EFFECT: specified has advantages of ease of use on site works, ease of operation, low labor input and absence of negative impact on normal production process.;5 cl, 3 dwg
