Method of prevention oil from migrating to groundwater from polluted tundra soils includes sampling an average soil sample on the polluted site to determine the y0 oil initial concentration in it and the depth of its penetration into the ground. Spread peat evenly on the contaminated area and close it up by mixing it with the soil. In the uncontaminated area, an average soil sample is taken from the upper humus-accumulator horizon with a capacity of up to 30 cm, the depth of oil penetration in the contaminated area and its area are estimated, and the required amount of peat is applied to the contaminated area by this data set. Volume of peat is evenly distributed over the entire surface of the contaminated area and buried in the soil by mixing with contaminated soil. After that, every 10 days, averaged soil samples are taken at the contaminated site to determine the residual oil concentration y in them, until a statistically proven tendency to decrease its concentration in the soil is detected, then predict the period of prevention of oil migration into groundwater from polluted soil by calculating the time to reach the approximate allowable concentration of oil for tundra soils.;EFFECT: using this method allows to optimize the process of reclamation of the area polluted with oil soil.;1 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
