FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of metal-diamond coating by chemical or electrochemical deposition from solution or electrolyte containing ion source of precipitated metal and diamond-containing additive. Coating is in form of a two-layer metal film and has a first layer of a deposited metal selected from a certain group, and a second layer of metal of said group with dispersed particles of a synthetic carbon diamond-containing substance is deposited thereon. Coating is obtained by depositing the first layer by chemical or electrochemical deposition from a solution or electrolyte containing a source of deposited metal ions. Then the second layer is deposited by electrochemical deposition from electrolyte containing source of ions of deposited metal and disperse system consisting of mixture of liquid disperse medium, solid disperse phase and stabilizer.;EFFECT: higher operational and technical characteristics of coating on corrosion resistance, microhardness, wear resistance, as well as quality of its application.;22 cl, 13 dwg
