Storage device capable of managing jobs without intervention of a processor

A memory device (1300, 1300a, 1300b) includes a nonvolatile memory and a controller (1330a, 1330b). The controller (1330a, 1330b) includes a job manager circuit (HW) and a processor (1339). The job manager circuit (HW) manages a job of a first type connected to the nonvolatile memory, and the processor (1339) processes a job of a second type connected to the nonvolatile memory. The job manager circuit (HW) manages the job of the first type without intervention of the processor (1339). The processor (1339) provides a management command for the job manager circuit (HW) in response to a notification received from the job manager circuit (HW) such that the job of the second type is processed.
