From a trim component assembly attached to a pillar assembly and a trim buffer member interposed between the trim component assembly and the pillar assembly, systems, methods, and apparatus are provided to support the trim component assembly during an impact, wherein the trim buffer member deflects from a basic shape is configured when a load is applied to the trim buffer member to prevent the trim component assembly from disengaging from the column assembly for a period of time by allowing a load with a constant force from the trim component assembly to partially engage a power transmission relative to the load the pillar assembly is received while deforming the basic shape of the trim buffer element in response to the applied load.
