The invention relates to a method for determining, by means of an electronic data-processing device, a first discharging sequence applicable to a lithium-ion cell at a given temperature, this sequence including a first phase of discharging the cell under a current ISTART that is smaller than or equal to the maximum current IMAX applicable to the cell at said temperature, until reaching a level of discharge CdTH-OPT, followed by a second phase of discharging the cell under a current INOM that is higher than the current IMAX.
