The invention relates to a method of determining, by means of an electronic data processing device, a first discharge sequence applicable to a lithium-ion cell at a given temperature, this sequence comprising a first phase of discharge of the cell under an ISTART current less than or equal to the maximum IMAX current applicable to the cell at said temperature, up to a CdTH-OPT discharge level, followed by a second phase of cell discharge under an INOM current greater than the IMAX current .
