Anti-pollution mask

A face mask comprises a face seal 22, wherein the seal comprises 22 an envelope defining a lumen 24 containing an open cell foam core, and wherein the seal comprises one or more valves 26 that control the passage of air to and from the core of the seal. The seal is mounted on a frame 6, housing filter material and at least one exhalation valve. Only the seal is in contact with the face of the user. The exhalation valves have a high flow capacity and provide an effective means for venting exhaled air from the mask. The mask can be used as a better fitting anti-pollution mask
