An electronic control system (128) of the laser scanner (100) is designed to control the laser source (102) such that a plurality of light beams (108, 110, 112) are emitted at different times such that the reflected portion (120) of no more than one of the light beams (108, 110, 112) is incident upon one sensor pixel at the same time.
