A nuclide that emits positrons and then emits de-excited gamma rays is administered to an imaging target. A PET device detects the de-excited gamma rays separately from three annihilation gamma rays generated upon annihilation of positrons (ortho-positronium annihilation). On the basis of a detected energy (EDETγ1 to EDETγ3) and a detected position (PDETγ1 to PDETγ3) of each annihilation gamma ray, and a detection time (tDETγ1 to tDETγ3) of the annihilation gamma rays and a detection time (tDETγE) of the de-excited gamma rays, a distribution state of the nuclide in the imaging target is derived in three dimensions and is associated with a derived distribution position to determine lifetime information of the positrons.
