The invention relates to the computer-assisted creation of an interdisciplinary simulation model (9) of a physical-technical device. Based on a given database which is indicative of the physical-technical behavior of the device, discipline-specific simulation components (FMUb-FMUd) of the device and at least one interface (21-35) for each of the simulation components (FMUb-FMUd) are created States of the simulation components (FMUb-FMUd) by means of the interfaces (21-35) are synchronized with each other. Each discipline-specific simulation component (FMUb-FMUd) models a corresponding discipline-specific aspect of the physico-technical behavior of the device. The created simulation components (FMUb-FMUd) together with the interfaces (21-35) represent the simulation model (9).
