PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dementia model animal, a method for producing the same, and a screening method for an nootropic drug using the same. SOLUTION: A dementia model animal having neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus, and the dementia model animal by simultaneous oral administration of an aluminum antioxidant and a pyridone carboxylic acid antibacterial agent (for example, a quinolone antibacterial agent).
