An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for promoting the production of interleukin-23 and the like, which can eliminate complicated labor such as changing the taste and encapsulation. The composition for promoting interleukin-23 production according to the present invention contains bacterial cells as an active ingredient. Here, the cells are selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus delbrookii subspecies Bulgaricus, Lactobacillus gasseri, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus johnsonii and Bifidobacterium bifidum.
