To provide an accident or the like determination system that has a simple configuration, can facilitate post installation to a vehicle, and has high accuracy.SOLUTION: An accident determination system includes: a detection device arranged by post installation at an arbitrary position of a vehicle and a communication terminal. The detection device includes: a first measurement section for measuring acceleration information of a vehicle; and a first transmission section for transmitting measured acceleration information. The communication terminal includes: a first reception section for receiving acceleration information transmitted from the first transmission section; a storage section for storing received acceleration information; a synthesis section for synthesizing first information with the use of stored acceleration information; an extraction section for extracting second information from the synthesized first information; a first determination section for determining whether an accident or not on the basis of the second information; a calculation section for calculating the second information so as to acquire third information; and a second determination section for determining whether an accident or not on the basis of the third information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 22
