To provide a method for elongating a service life of a grinding worm.SOLUTION: A grinding method comprises at least: a step a) of supplying a first gear work-piece 10; a step b) of executing topological generation-grinding operation by performing relative movement between the first gear work-piece 10 and a grinding worm 2, which comprises relative-feeding movement, relative-shaft feeding caused in parallel or obliquely to a tool rotation shaft B and relative-shift movement; a step c) of supplying a second gear work-piece; a step d) of executing relative jump motion substantially in parallel or oblique to the tool rotation shaft B between the second gear work-piece and the grinding worm; and a step e) of repeating the step b) for the second gear work-piece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
