PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillation source position estimation method and an oscillation source position estimation system which can accurately estimate a position of an oscillation source without using another underwater positioning device, even when the oscillation source is deeply sunk under water.SOLUTION: An oscillation source position estimation system 1 includes: an oscillation source 2 which is sunk under water, and which can generate a predetermined sound wave; a plurality of geophones 3i which are arrayed approximately linearly, and which can observe the sound wave under water; and a controller 4 for extracting a direct wave Wd of the oscillation source 2 from observation signals of the plurality of geophones 3i, so as to estimate a position of the oscillation source 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
