Process recording slides for immunohistochemical staining

Devices and methods for determining the efficiency of paraffin depletion, antigen retrieval, and primary and secondary staining reagents used in assay processes, particularly multi-step immunohistochemical (IHC) assays. The device includes an adhesive coated microscope slide containing multiple compounds applied as dots in a 2D or 3D configuration and sealed under paraffin coating. Subsequently, tissue sections or free cells are applied to the same slide and all undergo an IHC treatment step from tissue capture to application of coverslips. The compound reacts with either the primary or secondary IHC staining reagent to record the treatment received by the coexisting tissue section or free cells.
