To lighten the burden on a driver and then to support a safe travel without providing any special facilities etc., on a road surface.SOLUTION: A travel support device for an electric vehicle comprises: a left image pickup unit 51 and a right image pickup unit 52 which image at least a road surface; a block detection unit 101 which detects a direction in which an electric vehicle 1 can move from picked-up image data of the left image pickup unit 51 and the right image pickup unit 52; a distance calculation unit 103 which generates indication information for controlling a travel of the electric vehicle 1 on the basis of the direction that the block detection unit 101 detects; and a vehicle control ECU 150 which controls the travel of the electric vehicle 1 on the basis of the indication information that the distance calculation unit 103 generates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
