To analyze functional substances contained in leaves of Helianthus tuberosus to increase effective use of Helianthus tuberosus, establish an extract method for obtaining extract effectively containing the same, and further provide a food and pharmaceutical composition containing the Helianthus tuberosus leaf extract as effective ingredients.SOLUTION: The present invention relatives to Helianthus tuberosus leaf extract having an action of reducing symptoms of pollinosis, and a food and pharmaceutical composition containing the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to Helianthus tuberosus leaf extract containing at least 0.3% (w/w) or more of 1-(3',4'-dihydroxy cinnamoyl)cyclopentane-2,3-diol (DCCD), and a food and pharmaceutical composition containing the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
