PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyolefin resin composition for covering a wire and a cable, the polyolefin resin composition allowing for reduction of load to an extrusion molding machine, excellent in shape maintainability after extrusion-molded and further allowing for formation of a cover having high wear resistance and excellent in appearance, and to provide a wire and a cable each employing the polyolefin resin composition.SOLUTION: The polyolefin resin composition for covering a wire and a cable is provided that contains: 20 to 70 mass% of a polyethylene resin (a1) having a specific density and a specific MFR (Melt Flow Rate,190°C, 21.18 N); 20 to 75 mass% of a resin (a2) of at least one kind of polymer selected from an ethylene-α olefin copolymer and an ethylene single polymer and having a specific density and a specific MFR (190°C, 21.18 N); and 3 o 25 mass% of a polypropylene resin (a3) and that has an MFR (190°C, 21.18 N) of 0.61 to 5.0 g/10 min. The wire and the cable having an extrude cover obtained by extrusion-molding the polyolefin resin composition are also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
